Eat & Shop
Berkeley has worked hard to transform and redefine neighborhoods by attracting dynamic, successful retail destinations to our properties. In the Fort Point Channel area, once a sleepy neighborhood of old warehouse buildings with little activity after dark, Berkeley worked with chefs and restaurateurs including Barbara Lynch and Joanne Chang to bring innovative cuisine to the area. The result: the neighborhood is now one of Boston’s hottest culinary destinations, featuring Menton, Drink, and Flour Bakery. Today the District continues to benefit from restaurants brought to the neighborhood by Berkeley, including the trend-setting oyster bar Row 34, Pastoral artisan pizza, and the high energy bar-restaurant Sportello. Berkeley has undertaken transformations in other districts as well, including Waltham, Malden, and Boston’s Sullivan Square.
